We pray that you have had a wonderful weekend remembering and reflecting on the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is His by His death that we are redeemed, and by His resurrection that we have eternal life! Praise be to God for His mercy in sending His Son!
I (Jeremy) have been in Sheffield now for 11 days. Thank you for your prayers. My time has been encouraging and fruitful. I have been able to work on several different components of Porterbrook (from structure to content and everything in between) and feel like I have my mind around all that Porterbrook is and could be; I think!
It has been a such an encouragement to engage with my brothers and sisters in Christ here in Sheffield. England, and Sheffield specifically, is in such need of men and women like these who are unashamed to proclaim and demonstrate the gospel.
In America, yesterday was one of the highest attended weekends of the year for most churches. Here, there are actually fewer people who attend church on Easter Sunday than on a normal weekend. Even the “tradition” of Christianity is slipping out of practice.
On Saturday, The Crowded House (www.thecrowdedhouse.org) celebrated it’s 10 year Anniversary by all the United Kingdom churches gathering together in Loughborough at a 500 (yes, 500!) year old school.
It was a wonderful day of celebrating all that God has done through the people of The Crowed House across the United Kingdom and all over the world. We were able to skype with The Crowed House church plants in South Africa, Australia, Tasmania, and in the Middle East. The event was a marvelous opportunity to reflect on the reality that God is at work all across the world. He is truly calling men and women from every tribe, tongue, and nation to know and follow Him!
This week I am traveling to Ireland to work with one of our Learning Sites (www.porterbrooknetwork/porterbrook-learning/) in Belfast. We are excited about launching this new site in the Fall. I met the coordinator, Lucas Parks, in January when Deedra and I first visited Sheffield. I am looking forward to spending time with a good brother and with the British version of a “Texan”!
I’ll also be meeting Deedra in London on Friday, praise the Lord! I have missed her greatly. We are looking forward to serving together here in Sheffield and in Birmingham over the next couple of weeks.
Please continue to lift us up in your prayers for fruitfulness in ministry and wisdom as we continue to work through the future of The Porterbrook Network.
